Murakami Packaging
Here’s a new and improved photo of the Murakami Soups from a while back. My good friend, kick-ass photographer, and all around cool dude John Ellis shot it. Check out his work here.

Vintage Signs, Postcards, Etc.
I was doing research for a packaging project and came across this Flickr page. It’s got tons of Nostalgia and Americana road signs, postcards, roadside attractions, vintage product packaging, etc., like this little fellow:

Enjoy!

Modern Guilt
So I left my house a few minutes early today so I could swing by the record store and grab the new Beck album. Holy gamma rays, Batman… this thing is absolutely amazing. All day long I’ve been looking forward to shorter classes and shorter conversations so I can go back and listen to it.
I think this is the album I’ve been waiting for Beck to put out since Midnight Vultures. I mean, Sea Change (or sad Beck) was good. It was a nice break. So was Mutations… Guero and The Information were kind of OK. But this Modern Guilt action: Pure gold.
Here’s a fancy promo video:

Milieu
Here’s a magazine I made for Publications and Editorial Design this quarter. This class was absolutely bananas, but I feel like I learned a ton. Probably the best class I’ve had in school so far.
The magazine is about every day people. It would run stories about real folks around the globe and their struggles, in hopes that the reader would identify similarities and get a sense of unity and equality.
The well story in this first issue is personal. It deals with my growing up in Guatemala, and watching Mazinger-Z and criminal executions on television.
Here’s two covers for the first issue:
